Compassionate Thoughts by Debbie

There is help for your hurting heart.

"A Letter Of Thanks" Lord, I'm asking for some of your time today.
To "thank you" for all your blessings you bestow upon me.
First of all, I want to "thank you" for dying on the cross for me, and for the stripes you suffered for my healing. Not to just say the words, but to really let you know how much I appreciate it from the bottom my heart.
I don't know how anyone can look at a picture or film of you on the cross, and not shed tears, or not want to yield their life to you, for what you did for us. The humiliation you suffered as you hung there on that cross, while they spat upon your face, and gave you vinegar to drink, and beat you with stripes, while the crowd looked on, and mocked and cursed you, should have been beyond human endurance. Yet, you hung there, and never complained, so that our sins could be forgiven, and we could have eternal life.
I want to "thank you" for this big, beautiful world you created for us to live in. The mountains, beautiful beaches, and sunsets. I don't know how anyone can see a beautiful sunset on a beach, or see the sunrise up over the mountain top, and say " there is no God".
" Thank you" for all creatures big and small, and for our animals we have as pets that bring us a lot of laughs.
Man is trying his best to destroy the world, but hasn't succeeded yet.
Help us Lord, to appreciate the little things, and to stop and smell the roses along the way.
"Thank you" Lord for the air we breathe, and for life itself. For we realize without you, we could do nothing.
"Thank you" Lord for what health we have, which may not be perfect, but we realize there is always people worse off than we are.
"Thank you" Lord for our home, food and clothing. We may not always have the kind of food or money we want, but as the scriptures says, I have been young, and now am old: yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging bread. "Thank you" Lord  that you've never forsaken us, nor have we had to beg bread.
"Thank you" for the many times you've answered our prayers. Especially those times we would pray, and it would seem like you weren't there or listening.
"Thank you" Lord you protected us from dangerous situations we didn't even know we were in. Especially, when we were living in sin.
"Thank you" Lord for our troops that are fighting for our Country in sweltering hot, and unpleasant conditions. Bless them Lord, for they go through a lot, even having to worry if they are going to see their love ones again, or if they're going to be alive the next minute.
"Thank you" Lord, for our relationship with you. Even though we may not have any earthly friends, I thank you that you are a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. We can call on you anytime day or night, and you're always there listening, waiting to hear us, comfort and console us. You know our innermost thought and needs without us having to utter a word.
"Thank you" Lord for being you.
And last but not least, "Thank you" for my family.. my spouse, children, and my mom that I miss greatly. As we age, we begin to realize how important family is to us. Help us to appreciate them, and to be more forgiving of their faults.
Lord, these are just a few of many blessings I'm thankful for. "Thank you" for your time and listening to me.
We're always asking you to bless us, and for God to bless America. Now it time for us to bless you, and for America to bless God.
Please help people to realize that the only true peace they'll ever have is to yield their life to you.
You ask so little of us, in exchange for what you do for us. What is so hard about that?
I love you Lord, I bless you Lord, I worship you " Thank you Lord"

Bear ye one anothers burdens.........

Hello, again, Everyone! I had stated in a previous blog that I was facing a thyroid biopsy.
Well, it took place on Feb.4th.
Got my results back on the following Friday!
PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD, it was not cancerous!
When I received the phone call, stating the good news,
I felt like I had a thousand pound  weight lifted off my shoulder!
God is so good and faithful to answer prayer.
I can't thank him enough, and appreciate everyone who held me up in prayer.
All day long that day, I kept thinking how easily the shoe could of been on the other foot.
As I pondered all day long on GODS GOODNESS,
I said a prayer for the ones that may not have gotten a good report.
How easy it is to forget others who are not as fortunate as we are.
I have been through a lot of rough times in my life,
which as I stated earlier, that I will touch down on , as God leads.
Through it all, I can honestly say I was humbled,
and have always tried to exemplify compassion towards others.
We should never go by a funeral home,
without saying a prayer for the dear ones that are suffering a loss.
When we pass by an accident on the road, say a prayer for the ones that got hurt,
or the ones left behind that their loved ones were killed.
Say a prayer for the homeless people on the streets,
that are hoping and praying for a better way of life.
Say a prayer for all the lonely elderly people that may be just waiting for a smile
 or kind word from someone.
Say a prayer for the unborn child, who is hanging by a thread, facing on a mothers decision,
to have the precious child to hold and cuddle.
Please help them choose life for that PRECIOUS CHILD, who is the innocent victim.
Say a prayer for the ones who are tempted to try drugs for the first time.
Pray for them to understand the first "hit" of heroin or cocaine, may be their last.
Pray for the depressed people, and everyone who feel as though life is too hopeless to go on.
Lead them to Christ. Yes, folks. This is just a little of the compassion I speak about.
Lord, help us to never turn a deaf ear, or a blind eye to those who are crying out for help.
Lord, help us be there for one another, and pray for one another, and bear each others burdens.
I think a lot about the compassion of God.
How he gave his only son for us, so we may have eternal life.
I want to be more Christ like, and have compassion for everyone I come in contact with.
Until next time, God bless everyone.

God, Are you there?

Hello, Everyone! It's been awhile since  I have written on my blog! Please forgive me.
I want to touch down tonight' to all of you who may be going through difficult times.
It may be depression, a physical ailment, financial problems, loss of a loved one, bankruptcy,  addictions, feelings of despair, ( I could go on and on) but the point of the matter is, how many of you have had those moments, where you just look up towards the sky, and asked "God, where are you"?  I'm battling one of these moments myself.
Facing a possible biopsy on my thyroid in Feb. I have never been the type of person, to question God. But from the time I found out I had the nodules on my thyroid, back in Sept, I have been asking this nagging Question in the back of my mind, "God, are you there?
Of course, I have plenty of time, until my appt. in Feb. to ponder this question over and over in my mind. Is it fear of the unknown?
Why is it, it seemed so much easier to trust God, and not fear back in biblical days?
My sister, Cheryl & I have often talked about this.
Take the woman with the issue of blood.
Jesus was in the midst of the crowd, and she knew she had to press through the crowd, to touch the hem of his garment!
Can you imagine to have lived back then, and being physically able to walk up to the dear one,
who died for us, and suffered stripes on his back , for our healing?
Let me assure you, folks. That same Jesus is still the same today!
I am talking to myself, along with you all.
What makes us so full of doubt?
I have been asking myself, this question. Yes, true.
God is now a spirit, but that doesn't mean he is not the same God that healed, and performed miracles, back in bible days.
I have witnessed miracles many times. I never will forget, when I was a child, I had two big boils in the corners of each one of my eyes.
My parents did not believe in doctors, back then. I -had that child like faith, and was anointed & prayed for, and God healed them, never to return again!
Yes, I can't say it wouldn't be easier to have God here in the flesh. But, praise God, he is on the throne, looking down on us, and he sees what we go through.
That is why he is able to relate to what obstacles we face in our everyday life.
He once walked on this earth, and knows what  we go through as human beings.
Heb. 2:18 says, For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted! When we are tempted to doubt, and have a lack of faith, we need to remember this verse.  No, matter what we go through, God is still able to do exceeding and abundantly above, all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us!
Cling tightly, to that nail scarred hand, (even though we can't physically see it, we know it's there)during troubled times.
All those that know the worth of prayer, please pray for me.
I want to be free of fear and doubt!
Thank God He made a way for our escape.
Remember, my friend, there's not a problem on earth that our almighty God can't solve.
So, now by faith, look towards the heavens, and declare,
"God, I know you're there, and you will see me through!
Until next, time, God bless Ya'll.

Thanking God For Holiday blessings

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Trust everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I just want to take this blog, to thank God for the nice peaceful Christmas he blest us with. Cheryl, Kevin & Zach came to our house for Christmas this year. It was such a nice, peaceful day! We had a lot of good finger foods, this year! We have done that now, for the past couple years. We enjoy that, as we always have such a big Thanksgiving feast, the finger foods are kind of a nice break from the norm! As we stood around our dining room table, hands linked in prayer, thanking & praising God for His goodness, and all his blessings throughout the year, my mind wandered to people that are less fortunate then we are, and I sent up a special prayer in their behalf. My mind also wandered away back to a former time , two Christmas's ago, when my Dear Mother was in that prayer circle with us, and she was at my house for Christmas. Yes, we definitely had a missing link in that prayer chain. Oh, how, the memories and grief flooded my soul, and shook me right down to the very core of my being. Not wanting to put a damper on our joyous time together, I never said a word. But Cheryl , and pretty much everybody
else knew what I was thinking, when the prayer ended, and tears of grief were pouring down my face.
Any of you that have lost loved ones, know how this time of year, can bring back floods of memories. But I am so thankful we have a heavenly Father to call on who helps us through these times! Praise God. The day turned out very nice, and we were so thankful to be with our loved ones! Missed all the ones we couldn't be with, too. Zach also wanted to have his 13th birthday at his Aunt  Debbie's house on the same day, too! That made us feel pretty good. His birthday is Dec. 26th. New years eve. was real special, too, as we went to L.D.'s daughters house. She cooked a wonderful dinner for us. She and her husband, and his Dad couldn't have made us any more welcome..And those adorable  grands, who are 13 & 6 always bring a smile to our faces. I thank God to see another new year, and for all his many, many blessings. My Christian home , along with my Husband, L.D. & Son, Mark mean more to me everyday! I always get a little sad to see the holidays go. I know it bothers a lot of people, in this way, but Lord willing, we can look forward to it, again. My resolutions for this year, are to be more like Christ, to stop and smell the roses along the way, and to be a blessing and help to everyone I cross paths with. Things on this earth don't last forever, and all good things must come to an end. The holidays are no different, they come, and they go. But one thing that remains the same, is God's unchanging hand .Let us hold firm to that nail scared hand, and embrace the new year with joy in our hearts, and with a spring in our step! Until next time, God bless ya'll!

Let it be Christmas all year long

Have you ever noticed how nice everyone seems to be during the holiday Season? The spirit of Christmas really seems to bring out the best in most people! I guess it's all the bright lights, and all the decorations, a time to reach out to others, and a giving time! All of those things are wonderful, but wouldn't it be more wonderful to have those things all year long? I'm not necessarily   talking about the lights and the tree. I'm more concerned about keeping the spirit of Christmas alive all year long, by loving our neighbor, giving & helping the needy, (if we are able to do so) caring, & sharing and being nice & polite to everyone we come in contact with! People are watching our lives, so as Christians we need to present Christianity at all times! That is my one true desire for the new year ahead, is to be more Christ like, and to be a blessing  to everyone I come in contact with!  And to win souls to Christ. If even one person can find Christ through one of my blogs, then one of my main missions in life will have been fulfilled! God loves each and everyone of us, after all, he laid down his life for us. .My Husband and I often talk amongst ourselves, if only people could see the love of God! Many times all people hear about is the wrath, wrath, wrath! But God isn't sitting on the throne waiting to knock you in the head, so to speak, every time you do something wrong! Ask him to forgive you, and go on.  .God does expect us to live above sin, to what light he sheds on our paths.  The Bible is a good place to start! It is the blueprint to living a Christian life. Things we don't understand, we pray and ask God to shed light on. We don't ever need to get caught up in traditions. God will let you know in a still, small voice, if you are doing something displeasing to him. My wish for each and everyone in the coming new year, is peace, health & happiness, and may this be the year that you decide to make Jesus Lord of your life, if you haven't done so already! Until next time, God bless ya'll!  "HAPPY NEW YEAR!'

MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE..........

Well, its almost here! The Most wonderful time of the year! The Birth of the Lord Jesus! What a joyful time. A time to reflect , and to give of ourselves, and to stop and consider the true meaning of the season! I was on u tube today, pulling up Christmas Carols. I pulled up Dailey & Vincent singing one of the most beautiful carols of all time, BEAUTIFUL STAR OF BETHLEHEM. Now, I don't know about any of you, but two voices that blend together like theirs, just does something to me! I sat and wondered if angels could sound any prettier! My Husband was standing beside me, as we listened in awe! The melody & the harmony just blesses me through & through. Now, I love to sing myself, not that I'm any good at it, but you can be so blest by good music. Singing and making melody to the Lord. The Bible says ,MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD. Nothing reigns down blessings on you , like singing & praising & worshipping the Lord. Many times if IM going through rough spots in my life, I just start singing & praising God! Its got me through many a depressing moment in my life. I lost my Mom 2 yrs. ago this coming April. Traveling to Ohio from South Carolina for the funeral was rough. Isaiah 43:2, and singing songs is how I made it through. Sometimes the grief would be so overwhelming, I didn't think I'd survive. Six months later, my Husband lost his Mom. Yes, we've encountered some rough patches, but God saw us through! Songs and beautiful music have always been a big part of my life! God bless the beautiful voices like Dailey & Vincent who sings us music that blesses our souls. Whether we can sing & carry a tune or not, we all still need to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. As we all gather our families together for our celebrations Let us remember to think about those that are less fortunate than us, and pray for them. Let us remember to count our blessings, and if our heart leads us, make a melody to The Lord by maybe singing a Christmas carol or two. I promise you, it will lighten your load and make you smile! "MERRY CHRISTMAS"! Until next time, God bless you all with a Happy holiday season.

Hello, Everyone! Merry Christmas, to each and every person out there, and a Happy, Healthy New Year to all! Christmas is truly my all time favorite time of the year! There is just something about this time of the year that reaches to the very core of my being. The gift of giving to others, seeing the excitement and glow on all the childrens faces, the lights, and spending time with Family! But during this busy time, with all the hustle and bustle, do you know what touches me the most? It is the precious Son of Gods birthday! Yes, Jesus is the reason for the season. Let us take the time during our celebrations, and festivities to THANK THE ONE who made it all possible! I can't help but wonder how many of us take time out of our busy lives to offer up praises and Thanks to God most high. Not only at Christmas time, but all year long! God has been so good to us! I can't praise and thank him enough for my Christian home, and my husband, who is a preacher, and my dear son, Mark, who has stood by me through "thick & thin". God finally blest me with a Christian home, at the age of 45. I am now 55, so for ten yrs. now I have been blest beyond what words can say! I will touch down at a later time, what GOD DELIVERED ME FROM, AND BROUGHT ME OUT OF!All PRAISE AND HONOR GO TO Him!I love the Lord with my whole heart! If you don't know him as your personal Lord & Saviour, may I extend a personal invitation to you, right Where you are, to pray the prayer of repentance, and invite Him into your heart! I promise you, you can't go wrong, and your life will be forever more changed! God bless each & everyone of you with your merriest Christmas ever, and may Peace & happiness be yours, through out the coming year, and years to come. Now I'd like to share a Christmas poem with you! God Bless! IF YOU LOOK FOR ME AT CHRISTMAS, YOU WON'T NEED A SPECIAL STAR, I'M NO LONGER JUST IN BETHLEHEM, I'M RIGHT THERE WHERE YOU ARE. YOU MAY NOT BE AWARE OF ME, AMID THE CELEBRATIONS, YOU'LL HAVE TO LOOK BEYOND THE STORES AND ALL THE DECORATIONS! BUT IF YOU TAKE A MOMENT FROM YOUR LIST OF THINGS TO DO, AND LISTEN TO YOUR HEART, YOU'LL FIND I'M WAITING THERE FOR YOU. YOU'RE THE ONE I WANT TO BE WITH, YOU'RE THE REASON THAT I CAME, AND YOU'LL FIND ME IN THE STILLNESS, AS I'M WHISPERING YOUR NAME! lOVE, JESUS
